Top 5 Tips To Maximize Your Limited Space
Sunday, August 9, 2015 | 4:55 PM | 0 comments

Houses are getting really small nowadays and our furniture are increasing as the days go by.

Here are some tips for you to make full use of your space so that it will not look cluttered.

1. Create zones
Consider the main things you do in each individual room - work, sleep, relax & eat.
Pair study/work with sleep, and relax with eat.
Form the separate zone for those activities as subtle boundaries will make the spaces feel larger.

2. Trick the eyes
Get a full length mirror to create an effect of expansiveness.
Mirrors reflect light; making a room look brighter and larger.

Having light paint colours on the wall deceive the eyes to make the room look bigger.
Soothing colours reflect light and add warmth to the room. Thus, maximizing the effect created by natural light.
Paint your wall trimmings a lighter colour and this will make the wall appear like it is further back.

3. Keep the area clutter-free
Tidy & organize your space.
The space will feel bigger with things arranged neatly and out of sight.
There is always a focal point in every room.

For example, the focal point of a bedroom is the bed. The focal point of a dining room would be the table.
Arrange everything near the focal point so that the room looks less cluttered.
A cluttered room would mean a smaller space.

4. Built-in storages
Have built-in storages so that you can utilize every inch of space. Keep items out of sight like luggages, winter clothing and items that you do not use on a daily basis.

5. Get multi-functional furniture
Find a table that can function as both a dining table and a study table.
Get sofa beds that can double up as guest beds. In this case, you won't have furniture lying around like a white elephant.
